Sooji Halwa Proportions
Sooji Halwa is typically made in large quantities on holidays or religious celebrations. If you would like to create a large quantity and want to make the most quantity There's a certain amount that you need to follow.
The ratio of suji to water in relation to Ghee equals 1:1:2:0.5 in the glass or cup amount. I slightly alter the ratio to add a little Ghee, but with less sugar.
- Sugar - For 1 cup sooji (or rava) I would suggest adding 2/3 or 3/4 cup of sugar. This means that the suji Halwa isn't as sweet or it is not as sweet. A cup sugar makes a very sweet and sweet taste.
- Ghee I also add 2/3 cup of Ghee per one cup suji. For me, 2/3 cup is the ideal amount of ghee. Reduce or increase the amount of ghee as per your liking.
- water I have added 2.5 cups of water to one Cup of Suji. But, you can include 2 cups water. The amount of water you use may be increased depending on its quality and if you want the consistency of a pudding.
Suji's ratio to water to Ghee can be found to be 1:1:2:0.5 in an equivalent glass or cup measurement. I slightly differ from this ratio and add less ghee as well as sugar.
- Sugar For 1 cup of sooji I would suggest adding 2/3 or 3/4 cups sugar. Thus, the suji Halwa has less sweetness or is more sweet. 1 cup of sugar provides a very sweet flavor.
- Ghee I add 2/3 cups of ghee to each Cup of Suji. For me 2/3 cup is an adequate amount of ghee. Increase or decrease the ghee depending on what you like.
- water I have added 2.5 cups of water for 1 Cup of Suji. You can add 2 cups of water. The quantity of water can be increased based on your preference for the quality of the curry as well depending on the consistency of pudding.
